One of my 2007 predictions was that we would either kill or capture OBL this year. Sounds like we got really damn close back in August. I'm feeling good about this prediction. So be it.
So there are too many candidates and too many issues to magically pull the right candidate out of the hat. Thus I've decided to choose a different method in choosing my candidate: striking them out one-by-one. The only real problem with this method is that I'll probably have them all struck out after less than a month...
Let's begin, shall we! I'll start with Hillary Clinton. She's off my list. Her commercial saying that Bush doesn't care about our troops and her refusal to vote for the condemnation of MoveOn.org's "General Betray Us" ad were the final straws (among many other problems). Now let's move on to the remainder of the Democratic field. They're all off my list too. None of them have the proper respect for the Constitution and none have anything approaching a foreign policy (with the exception of Joe Biden). Finally, I've also decided to strike Mitt Romney from consideration. I simply cannot ignore his flip-flopping any longer. One large change of position could be believed to be sincere, but not multiple such changes. Now that he's suddenly become a gun rights supporter, he's lost credibility. Further, it's sad to see him pandering to the religious right with his newly vocal opposition to gay marriage (another position change for him). America needs a man of conviction AND the talent/intelligence to get stuff done.
France has been talking tough in regards to Iran's nuclear program. In fact, they've been doing pretty much all the tough talking for Europe. This is a good sign that President Nicolas Sarkozy has a better foreign policy than his predecessor, but it also highlights the rest of Europe's deafening silence.

Hallelujah! This isn't exactly a really new story, but you may not have heard about it.

Those of you who are political junkies will find this clip from the House International Relations committee pretty amusing. Chairman Ike Skelton curses multiple times and gets mad at protesters and other representatives. Stupid CNN doesn't let you embed clips, so you have to click here to view the video...
Product of a different age. I can now see why some people have a strong distaste for the man:
Unreal. A girl was told she had to go home and change clothes because she was wearing a t-shirt with the American flag on it... on September 11! The school said there had been controversy surrounding students sporting different national flags. So they banned every flag including America's. Since when did all flags have to get treated equally? There's nothing wrong with putting America first when you're in America.
With all the people in this world that want to bring us down, perhaps it's time we stand up for ourselves.
This guy's an utter joke, but it's pretty sad in reality. Why doesn't he do everyone a favor and drop out of "contention" for the Democratic primary race.
